What Affects the Price
Inverter capacity and type
A larger system or a hybrid unit costs more. Micro-inverters (one per panel) cost more per unit but are replaced individually.
Access and location
Inverter in the loft, on external wall, or in a garage all affect labour time. Highland and island sites carry freight and travel costs.
String configuration
If your panel array voltage or string design is incompatible with modern inverters, wiring modifications may be needed.
DNO requirements
G98 notification is simple and included. G99 application (above 3.68 kW or adding battery) may add 2–6 weeks of wait but no extra cost from us.
When Replacement Is the Wrong Spend
We will tell you if the numbers do not add up. An inverter replacement on a small, ageing system nearing end of panel warranty may not repay itself. In those cases a full system replacement — with modern, higher-output panels and a new inverter — often delivers better value over the next 20 years.
